I’m passionate about putting environmental issues into words that nonscientists can understand. With a master’s in science education (Cornell University), a B.A. in English (Colgate University), and 30 years of experience writing in educational settings, I understand key issues facing our culture.
A member of the Society of Environmental Journalists and the National Association of Science Writers, I often freelance about challenges in agricultural production and troubles facing the northeastern region of the U.S. In the past I wrote for the New York State Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program (nonchemical management of pest problems); edited articles, book chapters, brochures, and public service announcements; created displays and a living interpretive park; co-produced videos; and supervised writers, editors, and web designers.
My style is deeply collaborative and I thrive in assignments where people with different talents come together to finalize a product.
